I grew up in rural Minnesota with three sisters and a menagerie of animals. From a young age, I was passionate about reading, building, doodling and exploring. If there was something I wanted, I would just make it myself. Curiosity, empathy, imagination and proactivity turned out to be the perfect formula for a career in graphic design.
I cut my teeth at a digital ad agency in Cincinnati where I grew from a junior designer to an Art Director. I worked on both small brands and Fortune 500 companies, with local and international teams, and lead creative for digital design, content, UX/UI and video. I had an exploratory year where I did some baking at a little cafe in Newport, KY and freelanced. In the Covid years I helped build a team at an Amazon-focused startup where, in addition to and problem-solving through platform fires, I coached a little team of designers, helping build company culture. Then, I moved to Santa Cruz and am currently working for Ecology Action, an environmental nonprofit whose mission is empowering everyone in the community to take positive climate action. Needless to say, it’s a dream.
If I'm not at my desk, you'll find me on my bike, baking, or exploring the Santa Cruz mountains.
